I’m so behind on posting here, mostly because we haven’t had wifi in our little cabin in Chile and time on my computer has been limited, but I wanted to put up a quick post with some photos from our short stay in Colonia del Sacramento. It was such a charming town and the perfect way to end our month-long adventure in Uruguay.

One of the reasons we chose to spend time in Uruguay is that it is a small country, easily navigable by car (unlike its bigger neighbours) and that one month in this country would be enough to really peel back the layers and get to know it as the locals do. Our second-to-last day was spent with friends on their farm in Aguas Dulces, far up the coast near Brazil. The next day, we drove all the way to the opposite side of the country to Colonia, stopping half way for a wonderful lunch with new friends in their home in Montevideo. From one end to the next – just like that!

We really felt like we saw so much of the coast of Uruguay, and spending the last day in Colonia was just the icing on the cake. The following day we boarded the Buquebus ferry and rode across the river to Buenos Aires, watching as the pretty, colourful town faded from our view, waving goodbye to a country we grew to love.

Here are just a few photos from our 24 hours there. (Sorry for the rushed writing!) xx
